Roxburgh Missional Network

Workbooks

We are creating a series of Workbooks around a number of important subjects for innovating missional life.  The Workbooks take a key subject area and provide a learning, training environment for each of those areas.  They are important resources for leaders who want to do their own learning as well as for local churches wanting to creating some training resources for their leaders and education processes.  Our current set of Workbooks are listed below:

What is Missional Church?

A resource that can be used in a local church or among a group of leaders introducing the themes of missional church and how to effectively engage these themes in one's own context.  This workbook is designed to work most effectively with the Roxburgh & Boren book Introducing the Missional Church (Baker, 2009).

MBiN - Moving Back into the Neighborhood

We believe mission-shaped life in local churches is about moving back into the neighborhood and connecting again with the places and people where we live and work.  We need to learn the skills of entering and dwelling both in and among the people where we live and work.

The Moving Back into the Neighborhood (MBiN) Workbook addresses the need that many churches have - learning how to re-engage and re-enter our local neighborhoods and communities as the shapers of God's new world.  The MBiN Workbook is a detailed guide for churches wanting to know how to do this in their own contexts.  This step by step action learning guide provides you with small group reflection, meeting agendas, coaching tips and practical action steps through a process of re-engagement.  Purchase Now.

Mission-Shaped Structures

Mission-shaped life in a local church requires structures to shape and sustain its life.  This workbook introduces the idea of mission-shaped structures.  It shows why we need varieties of structures in a local church, what they are and how to create them.

Where Are We? - Where Do We Start?

A local church might be interested in exploring the themes of mission-shaped life but not know where to start.  Using the RMN Three Zone Model this workbook leads the church through an overview of the Three Zone Model and provides it with the means to a) identity its location in the Three Zones and b) name the next steps it can take in initiating missional life.

Managing Conflict

Change and transformation create misunderstanding and anxieties among people.  There is always the potential for conflict in a transformation process no matter how well it is planned.  What are the signs of this conflict and how do leaders effectively manage it so that it produces growth and new energy in the church?  This workbook provides the guidance to managing conflict creatively.
